The Old Brewer Hornstull: Bringing Genuine British Hospitality to Södermalm

The SG Group AB is proud to announce the opening of The Old Brewer Hornstull, a true British gastropub located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Södermalm. Slated to open in early March 2025, this new venture builds on the success of The Old Brewer Vasastan, which has been delighting guests with its warm hospitality, carefully crafted cuisine, and exceptional service since 2020. Situated just a minute’s walk from the Hornstull Tunnelbana, the new location promises to be a welcoming hub for locals and visitors alike.
After firmly establishing themselves in Vasastan, The SG Group chose Hornstull as their next site due to its unique blend of urban energy and strong community ties. “Many of our regulars at Vasastan travel from Södermalm, and over the years, we’ve heard countless suggestions to bring The Old Brewer concept to this area,” says Tim Barbour, founding partner of SG Group AB. With family ties to Hornstull and a deep appreciation for the neighbourhood’s vibrant dining scene, Barbour and his team jumped at the opportunity to expand into this sought-after location.
The Old Brewer Hornstull will stay true to the brand’s core ethos: providing guests with a unique pub experience rooted in hospitality, quality, and tradition. The gastropub will feature a menu of British and Swedish classics, including signature dishes such as Beef Wellington, fish and chips, and the beloved sticky toffee pudding. Dagens lunches will offer variety with daily specials, vegetarian options, ensuring regular diners always have something new to enjoy.
Guests can also expect a carefully curated drink menu, including craft beers, expertly mixed cocktails, and a selection of wines, alongside the Old Brewer’s famous Guinness poured to perfection. A wide range of non-alcoholic options ensures that everyone feels at home.
More than just great food and drink, The Old Brewer Hornstull will embody the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines a true local pub. “Our goal is to make every guest feel like they’ve found a home away from home,” Barbour explains. The pub will also prioritize sustainability, quality ingredients, and staff well-being, ensuring a positive experience for both guests and employees.
As Södermalm eagerly awaits this exciting addition, The Old Brewer Hornstull promises to redefine the pub experience in Stockholm, one perfectly poured pint at a time.
